Under this campaign, citizens have been motivated to hoist the national flag at their residences to celebrate Independence Day. On the occasion of Independence Day, the Government of India has announced to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

The Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan is a part of the Independence Day celebrations. This initiative encourages people across India to hoist the national flag to raise awareness among the citizens of India. The campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 July. Modi ji called upon the people of the country to hoist the tricolor in their homes from August 13 to 15. It also suggested the people of the country to change their profile picture on social networking sites from August 2 to August 15. Those who have participated in this campaign can also download its certificate.
