In the main event of UFC 278 at Vivint Arena here on Saturday night, Edwards beat Usman with a head kick in the last round of a bout he was comfortably losing and took home the welterweight championship.

At 4:00, the fifth round was over. Osman was regarded as the world's top boxer, pound for pound.

Usman's record-breaking 15-fight winning streak in the UFC was snapped by Edwards.

One of the most stunning knockouts in sports history took place. Edwards stated, "I can't even put it into words.

After the opening round, Usman had the fight in hand. To defend Edwards' left, Usman dove to his right, but Edwards caught him with a left head kick, whipping the over 17,000 spectators into a frenzy.

In the fourth round, Edwards maintains his position, scores a few blows, and is almost taken down. However, Usman successfully defends, flips the script, and midway through the round scores a takedown of his own. Usman has complete authority over Edwards.

Referee Herb Dean pauses as he notices Edwards grabbing the cage to get up after a takedown. Even as Edwards stands back up, he sags as Dean places them back on the canvas. 10-9, Usman. (39-37 Usman.)

Round 5: Usman continues to stalk, but Edwards doesn't pose a threat. The challenger must make a huge move, but he has nothing to offer Usman, who is coasting.

Edwards makes a few successful shots, but one of them is low. Then, just when Edwards appeared to be out of it, Usman is knocked out with his left high kick.
